CHARLOTTE, NC (WCMH) — Several former workers at Carowinds, a theme park in North Carolina, have lost their jobs and will soon be kicked out of the country, WSPA-TV reports.
The 27 employees were fired after they were accused of underage drinking and running from police, WSOC-TV reports. All of the workers were from other countries and were here in a visa.
No one was charged with a crime, but those fired will be force to leave the country.
“Participants who are terminated from their exchange programs are expected to leave the United States immediately,” a spokesperson with the U.S. Department of State said.
Carowinds is a 398-acre theme and water park along the North and South Carolina state line. The park employs approximately 2,200 seasonal associates and 113 full-time associates.
