COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Meet Timber! He is available for adoption at the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center.

Timber is a 5-year-old pit bull mix who is described as a calm and cool guy, according to shelter staff. Timber knows how to “sit” and is open to learn more commands like “stay” and “shake.” Timber recently had some masses removed, but shelter staff said the areas have healed and he is cleared for adoption.

“He walks great on a leash, he loves to sniff around and just hang out, but he also loves all the pets,” said Hannah Henschen, animal care manager.

Timber is good on a leash and would make a great buddy for your outdoor walks. Shelter staff says Timber does get along with other dogs but can sometimes be “a little pushy,” so it’s recommended he meets with any residential dogs before adoption.

“If you are looking for a middle age pit bull mix who already knows some commands and his most likely housebroken, Timber is your guy,” Henschen said.

If you are interested in Timber, he is available for adoption or you can foster to adopt. He can also partake in the shelter’s sleepover program as well. If you want to meet Timber, you can visit him at the shelter, located at 4340 Tamarack Blvd. in Columbus.
