COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Meet Venus! She is looking for her forever home since January and is up for adoption at the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center.

Venus is a 1-year-old pit bull mix who is described as very sweet, bubbly, affectionate and loves to cuddle. When she first came to the shelter, she was very scared but she has worked with the shelter’s shy dog volunteers and has blossomed into a happy pup.

According to the shelter, she is food motivated and knows “sit” really well. Venus is a little selective with other dogs for now and doesn’t show a lot of interest in playing.

“We recommend if you have a dog from home to bring them in and have them meet here at the shelter, so we can see how they do,” said Hannah Henschen, animal care manager at the shelter.

Venus is full of love and will roll over on her belly for pets, will give kisses and enjoys being held and hanging out. Shelter managers said she is good on a leash and is very easygoing.

“She’s super loving and she just wants a home and a family to love her as much as she’s going to love you.”

Anyone interested in adopting Venus can visit the Franklin County Dog Shelter for a meet and greet at 4340 Tamarack Blvd. Below are some additional adoptable dogs at the shelter:
