KNOX CO., OH (WCMH) —  Officials say 5 people were injured in a serious crash in Knox County, north of Mt. Vernon.

The accident happened on the 15900 block of North Liberty Road. The Mount Vernon post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says two cars were involved.

Officials said two of the victims were 2 and 4 years old. They were safely strapped into car seats and are recovering at Nationwide Children Hospital.

Two adults who were with the children are recovering at Grant Medical Center. All are expected to be OK.

Officials on scene told NBC4 that a car, driven by a 19-year-old man, went left of center and struck the vehicle with four passengers head on. They expect to file charges against the driver.
