COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH)–Former Ohio State University DL Adolphus Washington pleaded no contest to a solicitation charge Tuesday in the Franklin County Municipal Court.

Washington was cited for soliciting for prostitution, a misdemeanor, by the Columbus Division of Police in December. The Sport Industry major was busted during a vice operation, and could face up to 6 monthsfor the charge.

Sentencing has been set for February 16, according to the Columbus City Attorney’s Office. Under the terms of his plea, if Washington shows up in February with proof that he completed a “John Education Program” and can show proof of an STD test, his case will be dismissed as long as he also pays court costs.

The John Education Program is a day long course that focuses on the negative impact of prostitution – including human trafficking of women, STD’s and blight in neighborhoods. This offer is extended to all first-time offenders who otherwise have clean records. After a period of one year, as long as the offender stays clean, they can apply to have their record expunged.
