COLUMBUS (WCMH) – One person has died after a robbery that ended with a shooting at a west side gas station.
Columbus Police say that a man walked into the United Dairy Farmers at 1043 West Broad Street with a gun and allegedly robbed the registers just before 12:30am. The individual, now identified as 25-year-old Courdney Sims, left the building towards an ally and was shot by an unknown suspect in the parking lot. The shooter left the scene before police arrived and the shooting victim was transported to Mount Carmel West in critical condition.
He succumbed to his injuries just before noon Sunday. Columbus police say Mr. Sims was a also a person of interest connected to several other robberies.
Officers are currently interviewing witnesses, but police do not have a description of the suspect at this time. If you are the shooter or know any information related to the shooting, please contact the police.
