Arsonist targets church in Flint, Mich. and destroys water meant for local families

FLINT, MI (WEYI)–Members of a Flint, Michigan church are outraged and frustrated after it was targeted for a second time by arsonists.

The criminals set fire to pallets of bottled water which are meant for Flint families battling the lead water crisis.

This is the second time this month Greater Holy Temple has been targeted, and police say it’s arson.

On Wednesday church members had to put out several fires after someone set the water on fire. When the water was set on fire a few weeks ago, five pallets of water had been destroyed then.

“It’s ridiculous. I said, we’ve got another fire back here. When we ran back we saw this one was on fire, and then another one was on fire,” says church member Sandra Jones.

The water is distributed to people who need clean water to cook with, drink and bathe in.
