LONDON OH (WCMH)–The Madison Press reports an infant died Friday morning at the home of a private daycare provider on Margate Circle in London.

The infant, a seven-month-old male, was reported not breathing at 10:11 a.m. He was transported to the Madison Health emergency room and pronounced dead at 11:03 a.m.

London police and the Madison County coroner are investigating the death.

London Police Chief Glenn Nicol told the Madison Press his department is not releasing any further details yet.

There were other children in the home at the time, though Nicol did not specify how many.

It is unclear how long the homeowner has been providing childcare services.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office will perform the autopsy.

If investigators determine the baby’s death was caused by negligent or reckless care, the daycare provider could face criminal charges.
