Bill Murray crashes White House press room

WASHINGTON (WCMH) – Decked out in Chicago Cubs gear, actor Bill Murray made a surprise appearance early Friday in the White House press room.

NBC News reported Murray was in Washington to receive the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on Sunday. He arrived early to discuss the award with the President.

Murray told reporters that he’s confident the Cubs will go to the World Series to face the Cleveland Indians.

“Clayton Kershaw is a great, great pitcher, but we got too many sticks,” said Murray.

“And at home, our crowd, the weather. You get a little bit of autumn in Chicago. You don’t get that in Los Angeles. Trees just die, you know what I’m saying. In Illinois, they flourish,” he said.

Murray also joked that the press needs ice luges instead of coffee machines.
