COLUMBUS (WMCH) — Bodega hosted a vigil for former employee Reagan Tokes Sunday night.
The OSU student was killed after leaving the restaurant Wednesday night after her first shift as a bartender.
Many people came together at Bodega through this tragedy. The bar was filled with people who loved, knew, and cared for Reagan Tokes, and also many who just wanted to pay their respects. Even some officers from the Columbus Police Department came.
The patio will be decorated with flowers, photos, and candles for Tokes.
They lit candles and held a moment of silence remembering the good times Tokes brought.
Steve Cain is an Uber driver in Columbus and said once he heard of the event he knew he wanted to be there.
“It was kind of somber in there,” said Cain.
He said Sunday night was one of reflection for him
“I have kids of my own. I have a daughter myself, and I can’t even imagine what Reagan’s parents are going through right now,” said Cain. “It’s just very disheartening when you see something like this take place,”
He adds even though he can’t imagine the parents’ pain, he hopes he or no one ever has to go through this kind of heartache.
“Maybe something positive could come out of this.”
Bodega encouraged the community to come and show support for the friends and family of Tokes.
