COLUMBUS (WCMH) — The co-creator of the Ohio State University mascot has weighed in on the 2016 presidential election.
Ray Bourhis, credited for suggesting a buckeye at OSU’s mascot as a student in 1965, has endorsed democratic nominee Hillary Clinton for president.
“As the proud father of Brutus, a mascot that brings Ohioans together and is beloved for giving back to his community, I know Hillary Clinton is the best person to be president because we are stronger together,” said Bourhis in a statement released by the Hillary for America campaign. “I believe that our children should have a role model as President, and Ohioans deserve a president who respects all people.”
