COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Happy National Donut Day! Today you’re not eating an entire box of donuts… you’re simply celebrating with an entire box of donuts! It’s way different and totally acceptable.

FUN FACT: This delicious holiday started in 1938, and it commemorates The Salvation Army’s ‘donut lassies’ who delivered donuts to soldiers in the trenches during World War I. The donuts, served with hot coffee, were a treat that brought joy to those fighting in France.

While you may not be in the trenches, it has been a long work week! So we think you should treat yourself to a FREE DONUT at one of the many shops celebrating today!

Ohio Statehouse

BUT WAIT.
