COLUMBUS (WCMH) – It’s a celebration of the day where the date approximates the mathematical constant pi.

Pi is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter, approximately 3.14. The decimal places of pi never end and never repeat.

In celebration of pi day on March 14, several purveyors of pizza and pie are offering pi related discounts.

  • Blaze Pizza – All pizzas at Blaze Pizza will cost only $3.14 on pi day. The only local location in Central Ohio is at 1708 North High Street near Ohio State’s campus.
  • Domino’s – Domino’s is launching a 50 percent off online pizza deal on Pi day. All regular menu-priced pizza orders placed online for the entire week will be discounted to half price. This deal is only available for orders placed on Domino’s website and mobile apps.
  • Pizza hut – Pizza Hut is offering a chance at free pizza for 3.14 years. The company will release three math problems with a unique challenge: be the first person to solve and submit the correct answer to any one of the problems for a chance to receive 3.14 years of free pizza from Pizza Hut. Math experts and Pizza Hut fans alike can visit the Hut Life blog at blog.pizzahut.com to view the Pizza Hut Pi Day math problems on Monday.
  • Whole Foods – Sweet pies can be had for a $3.14 discount today at Whole foods. The grocery chain is also offering $2 off take and bake pizza.
  • Piece of Cake – Short North Piece of Cake has a special selection of pies available just for pi day.
