HILLIARD, OH (WCMH) — Voters in the Columbus area gathered together Thursday to watch Hillary Clinton’s speech at the Democratic National Convention, including Chillicothe Mayor Luke Feeney.
“I think I was the only small-town mayor to get up there. They showed a commitment to small towns like Chillicothe and Ohio,” he says.
He got to speak at the DNC earlier this week.
“Chillicothe is representative of a lot of small towns in this country,” he says. “I know I’m going to have a partner in the White House to help me get my job in Chillicothe done and done well.”
Nancy Sample opened up her home to Mayor Feeney and other Clinton supporters tonight.
“I’m going to do everything I can to help people understand she’s the most qualified and the best candidate,” she says. “This is a historic moment. We have a woman who is going to be possibly the next president.”
Both Sample and Mayor Feeney say they were excited to hear Clinton speak about her plan to move America forward.
“She is there to work for the American people,” says Sample. “I really think she has the public in mind for everything she does.”
“There’s unity. There’s a party that’s going to work together that’s going to bring everybody up together because Hillary knows when we work together we are better together,” says Mayor Feeney.
Clinton will be at the Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center in Columbus this Sunday.
