CINCINNATI (AP) – The mother of a 4-year-old girl who died days after being found unresponsive in the bathroom of their Cincinnati home has been ordered held without bond as she faces charges including aggravated murder.

A Hamilton County judge on Thursday also said that 24-year-old Britney Mayes, who is pregnant, will not be allowed contact with that child after it is born.

Mayes also is charged with two murder counts and one child endangering count. A message seeking comment from defense attorney Bradley Fox wasn’t immediately returned Thursday.

Mayes’ daughter, Avery, was found unresponsive in a bathtub July 29 and was taken to a hospital. She died Aug. 1.

The Hamilton County coroner ruled her death a homicide by blunt force trauma to the head, WLWT reports.

Prosecutors say Mayes was convicted in 2012 of a child endangering charge.
