Colo the gorilla welcomed back after surgery

POWELL (WCMH) — Colo the gorilla is back on view in her habitat at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium after a medical procedure last week, the zoo announced Wednesday.

Colo, who turns 60 this month, had surgery on Saturday to remove a mass from under her arm.

The zoo says her animal care team and veterinarians “are impressed with her recovery.” The Congo Expedition team painted her nails, too, so Colo will focus on that instead of her stitches.
