COLUMBUS (WCMH) — The suspect in a June home invasion and homicide, told officers to “shoot and kill,” him while being arrested.
According to the Columbus Division of Police, on June 28, they responded to the 190 block of North Warren Avenue for a call of a home invasion robbery. When they got to the scene they found three injured adults, two men who had suffered gunshot wounds and a woman with serious facial injuries. The victims were identified as Lee H. Bussey, Stevie Montgomery, and Timothy Montgomery.
All the victims were transported to Mount Carmel West, where Bussey succumbed to his injuries.
After an investigation police charged Joseph K. Kibby with the death of Bussey on September 13.
According to police, an officer spotted Kibby Wednesday, and as they approached him, he jumped from a moving vehicle running from officers.
Police say they were able to arrest Kibby, but he was yelling at officers to “Shoot and kill,” him as he was being placed in custody.
