COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH)–A 20-year-old man has been accused of robbing eight Central Ohio locations in the span of five days.

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Blake Ryan Hector, age 20.

“We rarely see this number of robberies in less than a week,” O’Brien said.

Hector has been indicted for eight counts (F1) aggravated robbery with specification (firearm), eight counts (F2) robbery with specification (firearm), eight counts (F3) robbery with specification (firearm), two counts (F3) tampering with evidence,  and one count (F2) felonious assault with specification, for a total of 27 counts.

The indictment alleges Hector robbed the following locations:

The BP Gas Station at 2800 Sullivant Ave. on Feb. 8; The Sunoco Gas Station at 2281 Sullivant Ave. on Feb. 10; the Cloud Nine Smoke Shop at 2136 Eakin Rd., the Eakin Road Market at 2220 Eakin Rd.; the BP Gas Station at 1091 S. Joyce Bickley was on duty the day Hector allegedly held up the Cloud Nine Smoke Shop on February 11.

“I was standing in the back of the store and he walked in and he had a scarf over his face,” recalls Bickley. “I told him you really need to take your scarf down. And that’s when he brought his hand up and had the gun in it. He said give me everything in the register.”

Bickley said Hector made off with $200, thanking her as he left the store.

“He grabbed a lighter first. He said thank you ma’am. And then he grabs up the money and he goes, I’m really sorry ma’am,” said Bickley.

O’Brien said Hector faces decades in prison if convicted.

Arraignment for Hector is set for Friday, March 4, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High St.
