COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus police are looking for a man accused taking $1,000 for a wood flooring job he never started.
According to police, the victim found 42-year-old Jeremy Leeper on Craigslist. Leeper came out to the victim’s east Columbus home and gave an estimate of $3,000 to complete the project.
Police say Leeper asked for $1,000 cash up front. He told the victim he would get a receipt from his truck, but never returned.
A Columbus police detective tried to talk with Leeper on the phone, but Leeper hung up on him.
Police say Leeper’s last known address is in the Linden area.
