COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A police officer is in critical-but-stable condition after a single-vehicle crash, according to police.

Columbus police said one officer was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital after a crash in the southbound lanes of Interstate 71 near North Broadway Street.

Police said the officer was in a personal vehicle at the time of the crash.

The southbound lanes of I-71 are closed at North Broadway due to the crash.
