Columbus Police searching for suspect in fatal stabbing during fight over woman

COLUMBUS (WCMH)– Columbus Police are investigating after a fight led to a fatal stabbing Thursday night.

Police and medics were called to the 400 block of N. Nelson Road just after 11:00 pm on the report of a fight near Nelson Park.


On scene, first responders found a victim suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Police say the victim, now identified as Savon Lamont Ligon, was stabbed after an argument over an β€œin-common relationship,” with the same woman.

Ligon was transported in critical condition to Grant Medical Center, where he passed away just after 1:00 am.

Police say they have filed murder charges against and are currently looking for 21-year-old Marcus Maurice Curtis.

This is the 67th homicide this year.
