COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Starting Tuesday, 30 Columbus Police Officers will be wearing body cameras during a 10-day test phase.
According to the Columbus Division of Police, the 30 volunteer officers will be issued one of six different body cameras for review and feedback.
The officers are in various parts of the city on different patrol assignments so the camera models can be compared.
Police say the body cameras will be easily visible on the officers.
The Columbus Division of Police is expected to select a vendor and implement the initial deployment of body cameras by the end of 2016.
