COLUMBUS (WCMH)– Columbus Police closed multiple streets downtown after a man threatened to blow up a bank after robbing it Tuesday.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about  9:19am today, a man entered the PNC on Broad Street between 3rd and 4th streets and allegedly robbed the bank.

Police said the suspect told bank employees that if police responded to the scene, he would blow the place up, and left a suspicious package behind.

Police closed 4th, 3rd and Broad streets in the area, while officers investigated the suspicious package but cleared the scene shortly before noon.
