COLUMBUS (WCMH) — More than two years have passed since an Ohio State University student was shot and killed and police still have no leads in the case. Now, investigators are offering a cash reward to help find the student’s killer.
Just after midnight on Jan. 5, 2017, Columbus Police officers were dispatched to 28 E. Northwood Ave. on the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found 20-year-old Tarak Underiner unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. Underiner was pronounced dead on the scene. It was the first homicide of what would be the deadliest year in Columbus’ history.
Investigators confirmed to NBC4 that the shooting was drug-related, but officers never received any tips or found any leads that can find the person responsible for killing Underiner.
Underiner was a member of Buckeyes for Concealed carry at OSU and a 2014 graduate of Colerain High School in the Cincinnati area.
