It’s been one year since a northeast Columbus woman was shot and killed while she was cooking her family’s Thanksgiving dinner and police are still searching for the person responsible for her death.

On the afternoon of Nov. 23, 2017, Adrian Scott was in the kitchen of a home on Hiddenspring Drive when bullets began flying into the house. Everyone in the house dove onto the floor as bullets passed through the walls. Unfortunately, one of those bullets struck Scott.

Scott’s fiance ran to the kitchen where he found her unresponsive on the floor. He immediately called 911. Scott was pronounced dead at the scene when police and medics arrived. She was 34.

After investigating the scene and interviewing witnesses, police determined that two separate guns were fired from a vehicle as it drove by the home. Surveillance video from a neighboring residence showed two cars driving past the home at the time of the shooting. One was a silver, 2-door Lexus 300 and the other was a white, 4-door Ford Explorer.

Police have received several tips stating that the shooting was a result of a dispute between rival street gangs, but investigators have yet to find out who pulled the trigger.

Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for Scott’s death. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS(8477).
