The Ohio State University Emergency Management office has issued a neighborhood safety alert after a student was robbed off-campus early Sunday morning.

According to emergency management officials, a female student reported that an unknown man approached her in the area of East 14th Avenue and High Street around 3:54am Sunday. The man hit the woman in the face, grabbed her purse and took off running north on Pearl Street. Officials say no weapon was shown during the course of the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 18 and 28. He is approximately 5-feet, 8-inches tall and weighs around 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red, white and blue jersey and is believed to have fled the scene away from campus.
