Police are asking for the public’s help identifying four men who stole thousands of dollars’ worth of tools from a Grandview Heights business.
It happened around 4am on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Ohio Power Tool on the 900 block of Goodale Boulevard. Investigators say four white men in their 20s parked directly in front of the business. Three of the men forced entry inside the building while the fourth man kept watch at the intersection of Goodale and Northwest boulevards.
The three men who went inside began carrying out handfuls of drills and other tools. Investigators say the men may have planned the heist the day before.
“There was a white van reported in that parking lot and the individuals inside appeared to be casing the place,” Central Ohio Crime Stoppers President Kristen McKinley said. “They might have come out the first time, checked everything out, and then came back that next day and got away with all of these items.”
The vehicle used during the break-in is an SUV with a trailer hitch. The vehicle is missing the spare tire that is supposed to be on the rear.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest or indictment of the men responsible for this crime.
