EATON, Ohio (WCMH) – Newly released video shows a captain from the Preble County Sheriff’s Office being hit by a semi-trailer in Eaton earlier this month.
The video was released by Preble County Sheriff Mike Simpson Monday.
Captain Brad Moore was directing traffic Jan. 8 following a single-car accident at the intersection of U.S. 35 and West Lexington Road in Eaton, WDTN-TV reports. A semi-trailer was moving through the area when it was hit by the train. The semi-trailer then hit Moore while he was standing in the roadway.
“It’s scary,” Moore told WHIO-TV. “I didn’t realize I was that … I guess getting hit by it’s one thing – because I got hit by the right front of the semi – and then rolling along the semi.”
Police say Captain Moore suffered a gash to the head, a broken left hand and needed 25 stitches, but he was otherwise okay. He hopes to be back at work soon.
