COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Columbus was among the American cities that saw the most demand from renters last month, according to a new report.

RentCafe.com, a nationwide apartment search platform, recently released its March activity report, detailing what cities were the most sought-after by renters on its website.

The 150 largest cities in the United States were considered, with researchers analyzing which had the highest rates of page views, favorites and saved searches, as well as the lowest availability rates.

Columbus was the sixth most popular city among renters, according to the report. The city has seen increased interest over the past month, as it jumped four spots compared with RentCafe’s February report. Cincinnati also made the list at No. 2, while Cleveland was ranked at No. 15.

The most sought-after city according to the report was Washington, D.C. The nation’s capital has remained the top-ranked city for apartment hunters for the fifth consecutive month, holding its position since October.

The complete top 10 includes Chicago (No. 3); Kansas City, Missouri (No. 4); Atlanta, Georgia (No. 5); Minneapolis, Minnesota (No. 7); Overland Park, Kansas (No. 8); St. Paul, Minnesota (No. 9); and Portland, Oregon (No. 10).
