ADAMS COUNTY, WI (NBC News) — The driver thought he had a free meal after hitting the deer while driving, but the deer had other ideas.
Dash cam video from an Adams’ County Sheriff Deputy, in Wisconsin, shows the officer responding to a motorist Thursday night.
The 59-year-old driver told the deputy he had put the deer that he thought was dead, in his trunk after hitting it, so he could have venison meat.
But soon after driving, the deer woke up.
The video shows the driver slowly pulling the deer out of his trunk.
The deputy begins talking about the deer’s “mangled leg” and about having to put it down, when the animal gets up and takes off into the woods.
Apparently the deer had the upper hoof in the situation.
