COLUMBUS (WCMH) – One woman is dead after an early morning blaze in southeast Columbus
It happened around 3am on the 900 block of South 22nd Street near the intersection of South 22nd and East Columbus streets. According to fire officials, a woman who was possibly in her 60s did not make it out. No one else was inside the home at the time of the fire.
While no cause has been determined, the battalion chief on scene says there are a large number of items inside of the house, which is still smouldering. It could be hours before firefighters are able to leave the scene.
