COLUMBUS (WCMH) – An early morning shooting on the city’s east side sent three people to the hospital Saturday.

The shooting happened around 1:30am near the intersection of South James Road and East Main Street. Columbus Police say a vehicle pulled into the BP Gas Station on the 3100 block of East Main Street and the passenger in the front seat leaned out the window, firing several shots at the group of people in line. 22-year-old Hakim Smith, 37-year-old Kenneth Woodward and 24-year-old Jay Day were transported to the hospital in stable condition.
