Family demands retrial in Cincinnati shooting

CINCINNATI, OH (WLWT) — Calling it justice delayed, not denied, family members of Sam DuBose say they want former University of Cincinnati police officer Ray Tensing to be tried again on a murder charge.

DuBose’s two sisters and two brothers spoke out on Sunday about Hamilton County Common Pleas Judge Megan Shanahan’s decision to declare a mistrial in the case against the former UC police officer.

Terina Allen, DuBose’s older sister, had a hard time holding back tears as she talked about her late brother.

“Sam isn’t gone,” Allen said. “It’s up to us to fight for him. If it was any one of us, Sam would be sitting here doing exactly what we’re doing.”

Tensing shot and killed DuBose during a traffic stop last year, an incident captured by Tensing’s body camera.
