MADISON COUNTY, OH (WCMH) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that left one person dead and closed several lanes of Interstate 70.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at about 3:18am, Thursday, troopers were called to I-70 westbound near state Route 56 on the report of a six-vehicle crash.
Troopers say a 2013 Volvo semi-truck, being driven by William L. Lowery III, 41, of Oxford, North Carolina, lost control and traveled into the exit lane of a the I-70 westbound rest area.
Lowery’s truck traveled into the berm where it struck five parked commercial vehicles.
Lowery was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
