FAYETTE CO., OH (WCMH)–The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says it has arrested two men after a murder at an apartment complex near Bloomingburg.

German Posadas-Cruz, 49, and his son German Cruz, 30, were arrested and charged with murder in connection with the death of a man who has not yet been identified.

Sheriff Vernon Stanforth reported that deputies were dispatched on Wednesday evening shortly before 7 p.m. following reports of a man found unresponsive at an apartment complex in the small community of Yatesville.

Sheriff’s detectives and members of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation were called to the scene after first responders observed indicators of foul play in the death.

The body was transported to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office for more examination.

The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time pending positive identification and notification of family members.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has not yet ruled on the cause of death.

Larry Mongold  lives right next to the apartment building where the murder allegedly took place. He says he didn’t see or hear anything.

“Murder is murder and  you have to deal with it.

The communities have to deal with it. It’s everywhere.”

Richard Barton has lived in the area all his life.

“This the first time something like this has really happened here in Yatesville,” said Barton.

“It’s very unsettling. I mean nobody wants to see that or live around it.”

Posadas-Cruz and Cruz were arrested late Thursday afternoon, the sheriff’s office said.

Sheriff’s detectives and agents from BCI are continuing their investigation.
