Football players honor cheerleader diagnosed with Leukemia

PALO CEDRO, CA (WCMH)– A high school cheerleader with Leukemia was overwhelmed by the support she was shown by the football team.

Ashley Adamietz is a high school senior recently diagnosed with Leukemia.

One of the football players, senior Ryan Caetano wanted to show support for her, and got the entire team to join in, KRCR reported.

As the players entered the field during a game over the weekend, each stopped to lay an orange rose by Ashleys feet. Orange is the color for Leukemia awareness.

Ashley said on Twitter she was left shocked, overwhelmed and speechless by what the team did for her.

The team’s coach, Joey Browm, said the team “took care of family business.”

“She’s part of the cougar family, so why not let her know that we’re all here for her. We are. So I wanted to let that be known to everybody, and especially to her, for what she’s going through,” Caetano told KRCR.
