TIFFIN, OH (WCMH) — The former Ohio State University marching band director has found a new school.

Jonathan Waters will be the new assistant professor of music education and director of bands at Heidelberg University, the school announced on Monday.

“We are confident that Jon will bring great energy, enthusiasm and expertise to the School of Music & Theatre and to the university,” said Provost Dr. Beth M. Schwartz in a news release. “We are excited that he will be joining our faculty on July 1.”

Waters was fired after an internal investigation concluded he ignored a “sexualized culture” inside the band. Waters disputes those findings.

OSU officials appointed Dr. Christopher Hoch as the band’s permanent director earlier this year.
