COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Former OSU running back Bri’onte Dunn pleaded not guilty to charges of domestic violence and assault in Franklin County Municipal Court on Monday.

The charges come after claims that Dunn assaulted his girlfriend in July.  He was arrested on August 7.

Court documents show Dunn has been placed under a temporary protective order.

According to a criminal complaint, Dunn allegedly hit his girlfriend in the head and face at her home on July 17.

He was dismissed from the Ohio State Football program one day later on July 18. In a statement, head coach Urban Meyer cited a violation of team rules for his removal from the team.

Following his court appearance Monday, Dunn was released on his own recognizance.

No court date has been set.
