COLONIE, NY (NEWS10) – Four out-of-state construction workers are accused of torturing a co-worker inside a local hotel for hours Sunday night.

Police say Mark Skaggs, 33, of Anstede, W.Va., Michael Grimmett, 32, of Ansted Va., Shane McCallister, 29, of Mount Lookout W.Va., and Dallas Fox, 43, of Hickory, N.C., punched, kicked, stabbed, and bit the victim.

The four men were arrested after the attack.

The desk clerk at the Days Inn on Albany Shaker Road received a call from a woman just before 10 p.m. Sunday who told her there was a man in one of the hotel rooms being held against his will with possible stab wounds.

The desk clerk called police. When they arrived they were able to rescue the victim before arresting the four men accused of the crime.

“During that assault, they used a knife and stabbed him on the torso and in the head,” Colonie Police Lt. Bob Winn said. “They bit him all over his body. They kicked him with their construction boots, which caused some broken bones and punched him and subjected him to that assault.”

Police said the four men did not allow the victim to leave the hotel room for several hours while assaulting him. All of the men work for a Georgia company called Carlyle Construction and were in the Capital Region for work.

Police said the victim knows the alleged assailants because his girlfriend is related to three of them. She’s also the woman who called the desk clerk.

The victim is recovering at Albany Medical Center with cuts all over his body, including his genital area. He was able to be interviewed by police on Wednesday.

The four men are being held in Albany County Jail without bail.

Police said additional charges may be filed against the men. What others are clicking on:
