Got holiday stress? Here’s how to deal with it

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — It may be the most wonderful time of the year, but it also can be the most stressful. That stress can ruin your holiday and your health.

According to Dr. Gil Greene with the college of social work at OSU, stress levels can peak in December when trying to deal with shopping lists, hosting family and traveling.


“When we get anxious we feel it physically.” Dr. Greene added, “One thing you can do anytime is deep breathing.”

Dr. Greene said to help keep your holiday merry and bright try to keep your expectations realistic, plan ahead and exercise.

From holiday parties to family arguments to budgeting, Dr. Greene has tips for dealing with potentially stressful situations.
