GROVE CITY, OH (WCMH)–Since its inception, more than $106 million has been raised for Pelotonia, But that money doesn’t come from just the bike ride itself.
There are so many different ways that people raise money for Pelotonia…in fact, at this garage sale in Grove City, 100 percent of all the sales will go toward cancer research. But there’s something else going on here and it has to do with puckering up for a pooch!
There is no doubt Addi Gehres loves everything about her dog Marley.
“My favorite thing about Marley is he’ll lay on your feet when they’re cold,” she explains.
But right now, she is willing to share him. Actually, she has it all planned out. She is selling Marley’s kisses to raise money for Pelotonia.
“I think it’s good to help people because their families must be very worried about them and they want them to get better,” she said.
Addi’s parents Ericka and Keith have biked in Pelotonia for six years now. Addi has become a virtual rider, and for a good reason.
“Two months after Addison was born, my mother passed away from cancer…after an eight year battle,” Ericka said.
“She may not remember her grandmother, but she knows how much she loved her and everything she wanted to do for her…and to see how it impacts others is just something that is beyond words for us parents,” Keith added.
And they’re all in favor of this dog kissing idea.
Addi has already raised $500 for Pelotonia, and Marley will be busy puckering up all day during Saturday’s family garage sale. What others are clicking on:
