SCOTLAND, ENGLAND (WFLA) – The dog-sized rabbit that became a global celebrity now has a new home.
Atlas, a seven month old continental giant rabbit, was put up for adoption after his previous owners could no longer care for the enormous rabbit.
In February, when Atlas was brought to the Scotland SPCA, the rescue center’s manager Anna O’Donnell said, “Atlas is already about the size of a westie and is still young with some growing to do.”
When word got out that Atlas needed a new home, Scotland’s SPCA was flooded with hundreds of folks hoping to rehome him.
In the end, the England rescue organization picked Jen Hislop of North Ayrshire as his new owner.
“Atlas is an absolute hoot and doesn’t stop running around unless he’s crashed out on his massive beanbag,” Hislop explains.
It’s not the first time Hislop has cared for a large rabbit either. She said she use to have two giant rabbits and currently has a giant cross rex rabbit named Coconut.
As for Atlas, “He even has his own pet stroller so my 15 year old daughter Laurrie and I can take him out and about.”
Hislop said she has decided to change his name to Atilla the Bun Binky Master Jazz Paws, or “Atty” for short.
