Columbus (WCMH) – Wednesday we are forecast to pass the 90 degree mark here in Columbus.   While average highs are only as high as 82 at the start of the month, we still have many records in the 90s.

In fact, the odds of you rolling a 4 with two dice (8.3%) is better than enjoying a 90 degree plus day here in Columbus.

We have records that go back to 1878 for Columbus, and below I charted out the number of times we had highs at each temp of 90 or above.

There have been 138.2 Septembers, or 4146 days in September on record here in Columbus.  Of those 4146 days:

  • 7.1%  have been 90 or above
  • 1.7%  have been 90 degrees
  • 1.2%  have been 91 degrees
  • 1.4%  have been 92 degrees
  • 1.0%  have been 93 degrees
  • 0.6%  have been 94 degrees
  • 0.3%  have been 95 degrees
  • 0.3%  have been 96 degrees
  • 0.2%  have been 97 degrees
  • 0.1%  have been 98 degrees
  • 0.1%  have been 99 degrees
  • 0.02%  have been 100 degrees

We should be able to add to this total at least once this week!   If you ever have any questions about heat, September, or any other weather question, send it my way, dmazza@wcmh.com
