FALLSTON, N.C. (AP) – Two people have died after a pickup truck hit a propane tank at their home in Cleveland County.

Officials told local media outlets that the tank exploded in flames late Sunday and started a fire in the home in Fallston, in the grass nearby and the roof of a nearby home.

Officials said a husband and wife in the home died from injuries in the explosion. Their names have not been released.

The truck driver was taken to a hospital. There was no word on the driver’s condition.

Investigators do not know why the truck ran off the road and hit the tank.
