I-71 reopens after crash leaves three people in critical condition

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus Police say three people are in life-threatening condition after a crash Thursday morning.

The single-vehicle accident happened around 12:45am Thursday morning.


Police say the call originally came in as a report of a flipped over car in the area of I-71 southbound near I-270 on the north side.

According to police, three people were transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.

The crash is under investigation.

Police closed I-71 southbound for a little under four hours as crews worked to clean up the scene. The roadway is now back open.
