COLUMBUS (WCMH) – A prison inmate from Ross County is accused of murdering his cellmate with a cinder block that he had dug out of the wall.
Casey Pigge, 28 is charged with aggravated murder and possession of a deadly weapon for the death of Luther Wade, 26.
It happened on February 23 inside the Lebanon Correctional Institution in Warren County.
“Pigge is accused of carving mortar out of his cell wall like something out of Shawshank, extracting a cinder block from the wall, and using the cinder block to strike Wade multiple times in the head ultimately causing Wade’s death,” said Warren County Prosecutor David P. Fornshell.
This isn’t the first time Pigge has removed blocks from a cell wall. In 2008, Pigge was found using homemade tools to dig the mortar out from behind his cell in the Ross County jail.
In 2009, Pigge was sentenced to 41 years to life in prison for killing his girlfriend’s mother before setting her apartment on fire.What others are clicking on:
