They’ve been around since 1934 and have locations around the world.
One of their locations on the Eastside, however, is not Up To Code.
A bright yellow sticker, courtesy of the Columbus Public Health Department, is on the front door of Steak ‘n Shake, 2441 S. Hamilton Road.
It means the restaurant failed to correct repeated critical violations.
So far this year, NBC 4’s Tom Sussi said the restaurant has had three inspections for a total of 22 critical violations.
- Recent ones include unsafe food temperatures. Like hot food not hot enough, and cold food not cold enough.
- Sanitizer buckets without sanitizer.
- Mold on the can opener.
- The inspector also eye-balled a worker using the same spatula for both raw and cooked beef.
