ROSS COUNTY, OH (WCMH) – A teen who escaped from the Ross County Juvenile Detention Center is back in custody after a tip led deputies to him.

Investigators said the escape happened around 9am Saturday. The Sheriff’s office received reports that two young males had ran from the facility. Deputies began searching for the pair in the immediate area but didn’t find them.

One young man was found near his home in Chillicothe around 12:15pm. He was taken back into custody.

The other teen, 16-year-old Kody Johnson, remained missing until Monday.

Johnson was being held at the Detention Center on charges of Arson and Receiving Stolen Property.

According to the Sheriff’s office, Johnson was taken back into custody Monday in the area of State Route 138 and Austin Road.

He is now back in custody at the Ross County Juvenile Detention Center.
