WICHITA, Kansas (KSNW) — The three men accused of conspiring to attack an apartment complex where many Somali-American immigrants live appeared in a Wichita, Kansas courtroom on Monday.

The trio of Patrick Eugene Stein, Gavin Wayne Wright, and Curtis Wayne were appointed lawyers and ordered to remain in custody by a magistrate judge.

Court documents allege that the men planned to detonate truck bombs around the small Garden City apartment complex where about 120 Somali immigrants live.

The criminal complaint says the men were hoping to set off an explosion to “wake people up” and had started stockpiling weapons.
