NEW YORK, New York (WCMH) — The New York Times endorsed Governor John Kasich saying “Gov. John Kasich of Ohio, though a distinct underdog, is the only plausible choice for Republicans tired of the extremism and inexperience on display in this race.” in an article published Saturday.
The Times criticized the two front-runners saying that Donald Trump is inexperienced and disinterested in important issues such as national security, and that Ted Cruz is campaigning for his own ambition rather than constitutional principals, citing his support of a government shutdown.
The Times called Kasich “a veteran of partisan fights and bipartisan deals” and “capable of compromise.”
